Our Doctrinal Foundation
Christian Guys is a non-denominational evangelical discipleship ministry committed to the historic Christian faith as revealed in Holy Scripture. Our first allegiance is to Jesus Christ, the authority of Scripture, and the mission of making disciples.
Where Scripture speaks clearly, we will speak clearly. On secondary matters, we seek conviction, humility, and charity.
We distinguish between essential doctrines that define the Christian faith, important doctrines that shape faithful discipleship and church life, and matters of Christian liberty where sincere believers may respectfully disagree while remaining united in Christ.
We believe there is one true and living God, eternally existing as three distinct Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each Person is fully God, equal in nature, power, glory, and majesty, while together being one God.
Everything begins with God. Our identity, worship, purpose, and hope are rooted in His character and His work.
Key Scriptures: Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1–3; John 14:16–17; 2 Corinthians 13:14We believe the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired, authoritative, and trustworthy Word of God and our final authority in all matters of faith and practice.
God transforms His people by the power of the Holy Spirit through His Word as it is faithfully proclaimed, studied, believed, and obeyed.
Key Scriptures: Psalm 19:7–11; Psalm 119:105; 2 Timothy 3:16–17; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:20–21We believe God created the heavens and the earth. Human beings are uniquely created in the image of God, possessing inherent dignity, value, and purpose.
Every person has immeasurable worth because every person bears God’s image.
Key Scriptures: Genesis 1:26–31; Genesis 2; Psalm 8; Colossians 1:16–17We believe humanity willingly rebelled against God through sin. Every person is separated from God and unable to save himself through moral effort, religious activity, or good works.
Understanding our need prepares us to understand God’s grace.
Key Scriptures: Genesis 3; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1–3We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who became fully human without ceasing to be fully God. He lived a sinless life, died as the once-for-all atoning sacrifice for sin, bodily rose, ascended to the Father, and will return in glory.
Jesus Christ is the center of our faith, the only mediator between God and humanity, and the only source of salvation.
Key Scriptures: John 1:1–18; Philippians 2:5–11; Colossians 1:15–20; 1 Timothy 2:5; 1 Corinthians 15:3–8We believe salvation is the gracious gift of God, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Believers are forgiven, justified, adopted, and reconciled to God through Christ alone.
We are not saved by our efforts. We are saved by God’s grace, and that grace produces a life increasingly shaped by Christ.
Key Scriptures: John 3:16; Romans 5:1; Ephesians 2:8–10; Titus 3:4–7We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and actively works in the world today. He convicts of sin, regenerates, indwells every believer, empowers holy living, equips believers for ministry, and produces spiritual fruit.
The Christian life cannot be lived in human strength. Growth in Christ depends upon the transforming work of the Holy Spirit.
Key Scriptures: John 14:16–17; John 16:7–15; Romans 8:1–17; Galatians 5:22–25; Ephesians 5:18We believe the Church is the body of Christ, composed of all who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ. The local church is God’s primary instrument for worship, discipleship, fellowship, service, and proclamation of the gospel.
Discipleship is lived in community. Healthy Christians belong to healthy churches.
Key Scriptures: Matthew 16:18; Acts 2:42–47; Ephesians 4:11–16; Hebrews 10:24–25We believe Jesus Christ instituted baptism and the Lord’s Supper as ordinances for His Church. They proclaim the gospel and remind the Church of Christ’s saving work and promised return.
These practices continually point believers back to the gospel and encourage faithful remembrance and obedience.
Key Scriptures: Matthew 28:19–20; Luke 22:19–20; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26We believe every follower of Jesus Christ is called to lifelong discipleship. God transforms believers into the likeness of Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit, and every disciple is called to make disciples.
The Christian life is one of continual growth in holiness, love, obedience, and service.
Key Scriptures: Romans 12:1–2; Philippians 2:12–13; Colossians 2:6–7; 2 Peter 3:18We believe Jesus Christ will personally and visibly return to consummate His Kingdom, judge with perfect righteousness, fulfill every promise, and establish His everlasting reign.
The return of Christ gives believers hope, perseverance, and motivation for faithful living.
Key Scriptures: Matthew 24; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18; Revelation 21–22We believe every person will be raised bodily. Those who belong to Christ will enjoy eternal life in God’s presence, while those who reject Him will face final judgment. God will make all things new.
Our hope is not merely for this life but for the eternal Kingdom of God, where Christ will reign forever.
