The gospel is not advice for improving your life. It is the good news of what God has done in Jesus Christ to save sinners and reconcile them to Himself.
Paul reminds the Corinthian church of the message they received and in which they stood: Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, was buried, was raised, and appeared to witnesses. The gospel is a historical announcement with eternal significance.
What does God say?
Genesis 1:26–31; Colossians 1:15–17
God created us for His glory
God is the Creator and rightful Lord of all things. Human beings bear His image and possess dignity, responsibility, and purpose. We were made to know God, reflect His character, and live under His good authority.
Jesus Christ is not an afterthought in God’s plan. All things were created through Him and for Him. The gospel restores us to a Christ-centered understanding of life.

Sin leaves us unable to save ourselves
Sin is rebellion against God expressed through unbelief, disordered desire, guilty action, and failure to do what is right. All have sinned and fall short of God’s glory.
Religious activity, moral comparison, and sincere effort cannot erase guilt or create spiritual life. We need mercy, righteousness, and resurrection life that only God can provide.

Jesus died and rose for sinners
Jesus lived without sin, willingly died for our sins, and bore the judgment we deserved. His death displays both God’s justice and His love.
God raised Jesus bodily from the dead. The resurrection declares Christ’s victory, confirms His identity, and grounds the believer’s hope. Christianity stands or falls with this good news.
How should I live?
Repent, believe, and follow Jesus
The gospel calls for a response. Repentance turns from sin and self-rule toward God. Faith trusts Jesus Christ—His person, His promise, and His finished work.
We are saved by grace through faith, not by works. The same grace that saves begins a new life of allegiance to Jesus, dependence upon the Holy Spirit, obedience to Scripture, and participation in the local church.

Explain the gospel in four movements: God’s good creation, human sin, Christ’s saving work, and our response.
If you have never responded to Christ, speak today with a faithful pastor or mature believer.
If you are a Christian, thank God specifically for what He has done rather than focusing on your performance.
Help another man
Pass it on.
Pray for one person who does not yet follow Christ.
Ask permission to hear his spiritual story before trying to explain yours.
Share the gospel clearly, without manipulation, pressure, or exaggerated promises.
